What it is
CrewAI is an MIT-licensed Python framework for orchestrating AI agents. Crews are teams of agents with roles that delegate tasks to each other, and Flows are event-driven workflows that control execution order, state and branching. It is a standalone framework with its own primitives and works with many model providers. The commercial CrewAI AMP platform adds Studio, a visual editor with an AI copilot, templates, GitHub integration and deployment.
It suits developers and teams automating business processes with agents. The framework is free; the hosted Basic plan is free with 50 workflow executions a month, and Enterprise, with SSO, role-based access, PII redaction and deployment in your own cloud, is priced through sales. Multi-agent setups can use many model calls per task, so costs and latency grow quickly.
