What it is
Otter.ai joins Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet calls to transcribe them live, then writes summaries and action items and shares notes with attendees. It also records in person through its web, iOS and Android apps, with desktop apps for Mac and Windows and a Chrome extension. AI Chat answers questions about one meeting or across many, and paid plans add file imports, longer meetings and admin tools.
The free Basic plan is tight: 300 transcription minutes a month, 30 minutes per conversation, three lifetime file imports and only your 25 most recent conversations. Pro lists at $16.99 a month, or $8.33 a month billed annually, before any promotions, and allows meetings up to 90 minutes. Business allows meetings up to 4 hours and three at once.
